Patrick Harbron/CBS ©2020 CBS Broadcasting Inc. All Rights Reserved.(NEW YORK) — Tom Selleck is doing his part to spread the spirit of giving this year.

Honoring the #2020TipChallenge his Blue Bloods co-star Donnie Wahlberg previously participated in, the actor left a $2,020 tip on a $204.68 bill for restaurant staff at Elios on the Upper East Side in New York City.

“I found out that my TV Dad #TomSelleck has generously accepted the #2020TipChallenge at Elios Upper East Side! Love ya dad,” Wahlberg tweeted, along with a photo of Selleck’s receipt and his note to the staff.

“I didn’t start [the challenge] but I’m proud to be part of it,” Wahlberg added. “To those who gave even the smallest extra amount this year — THANK YOU.”

Wahlberg tells People that Selleck dined at the restaurant in November, but kept the gesture a secret. “Tom never mentioned it to me,” he says. “We’ve done three [Blue Bloods] dinner scenes since he did it and he never told me.”

Wahlberg and his wife, Jenny McCarthy, previously left a $2,020 tip for an IHOP server in their hometown of St. Charles, Illinois back in January. Wahlberg did it again in November, leaving a $2,020 tip on a $35.27 bill for his server at Marshland restaurant in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

Lauren Alaina’s “supporting a good Claus” to provide coats for kids in need this winter

No Comments Country Music News

ABCDuring the coldest months of the year, many families in need find themselves stretched too thin to afford warm winter wear this holiday season. That’s why Lauren Alaina has joined forces with Operation Warm and the Martha O’Bryan Center, and she’s encouraging fans to do the same.

“I love supporting a good Claus for Christmas,” the singer wrote on Twitter. “No child should be without a coat when it’s cold. Let’s all do our part to help get them the holiday warmth they deserve.”

Through her new initiative, Lauren has set a goal of raising $5,000 to provide brand-new children’s coats to Nashville families in need.

It’s the cherry on top of a busy holiday season for Lauren, who in addition has been participating in the Grand Ole Opry’s Christmas programming, and also performed during the Macy’s annual Thanksgiving Day Parade last month.

Kevin Spacey releases third annual Christmas Eve video: "It does get better"

No Comments Entertainment News

Daniel Zuchnik/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) — Disgraced actor Kevin Spacey is keeping up his bizarre Christmas Eve tradition.

For the third year in a row, he’s released a holiday YouTube video message — but this time, he delivers the message as himself and not as his former House of Cards character, Frank Underwood.

In the clip, titled “1-800 XMAS,” Spacey sits on a park bench and begins by asking in Frank’s Southern drawl, “What would Christmas Eve be without a message from me?”

But he quickly breaks character and takes hold of the camera, earnestly addressing anyone who is struggling this year.

“If you’re standing in a place that you can no longer remain standing, if you’re suffering, if you need need help, if you feel guilt or shame, if you’re struggling with your identity, if your back’s up against the wall, or if you feel that there’s no path for you, whatever your situation, I promise you there is a path,” he says.

Spacey adds, “At this time during this holiday and beyond, even if you don’t feel it, there are people out there who understand and who can help, because you are not alone.”

He promises viewers “it does get better” and ends the video with the number for the Suicide Prevention Hotline.

Spacey’s Christmas Eve videos began in 2018, in the midst of multiple sexual assault allegations against him.

(WASHINGTON) — Dr. Anthony Fauci told The Washington Post that his message for Christmas is to “tone things down,” including gathering outdoors when possible, wearing a mask when not eating or drinking, and keeping gatherings to as few people as possible and within your household.

Fauci is not only celebrating Christmas on Thursday, but also his 80th birthday. And for the first time, Fauci won’t be with his daughters for the big day.

“This is the first time since the birth of my daughters, and they are now in their late 20s and early 30s, that we have not been together on Christmas Eve,” Fauci said. “I’m not alone in this feeling that kind of pain of separation from our loved ones.”

His milestone birthday was marked with a surprise Zoom party organized by his wife.

“I want to practice what I preach. I don’t want to tell the country to do something that I’m not willing to do myself,” Fauci said. “I was just on a Zoom call with the girls … I think I lost about a liter of fluid in tears, to be honest, with hearing their expressions of love and concern to me. But we ended it on a happy note because we know that sooner or later, very likely sooner, as we get into 2021 and things get better and vaccines help us, that this time next year we’ll be back again with the Fauci family celebrating.”

Major storm will hit Northeast with damaging winds and flash flooding

No Comments National News

ABC NewsBy MAX GOLEMBO, ABC News

(NEW YORK) — It’s going to be a windy and rainy Christmas for the Northeast as a dangerous storm takes aim on the region, threatening to knock out power.

The storm first hit the Midwest and the Plains on Wednesday, bringing blizzard conditions and winds up to 74 mph.

The storm will bring heavy, soaking rains from Florida through the Northeast Thursday night into Christmas morning.

Gusty winds will pick up in the Northeast Thursday night. The coastline will feel the winds the most — Atlantic City, New York City and Nantucket could see wind gusts reaching 70 mph.

Severe weather is also hitting the Carolinas Thursday. A rare December tornado watch is in effect for parts of coastal South Carolina and North Carolina until 10 p.m.

As the wind and rain hits the East Coast, some areas will see temperatures well above normal with highs nearing 60 degrees through early Christmas morning.

But behind the storm will be a major cold front.

On Christmas morning, the bitter cold will race across the East sending temperatures plummeting. Much of the Northeast, particularly New England, will be starting the day off mild. However, the cold will be firmly in place from the Great Lakes down into the Southeast.

The wind chill — what it feels like — is forecast to fall to 32 degrees in Orlando, Florida, 23 degrees in Savannah, Georgia, and 24 degrees in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
