Betting site taking wagers on why Kim Cattrall's Samantha isn't in 'Sex and the City' revival

No Comments Entertainment News

Richard Corkery/NY Daily News Archive via Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Ever since Sarah Jessica Parker announced the Sex and the City girls would be back — minus one — in the upcoming HBO Max series And Just Like That…, fans have been wondering how the revival will deal with the fact that Kim Cattrall’s Samantha Jones won’t be a part of it.

The speculation is so heated that online betting site Bovada has started taking wagers on what became of the character, according to the show’s canon.

The site lists several possibilities, including that Samantha either “passed away,” “moved out of New York City,” “won’t be mentioned in the first episode” or is “confined to a prison or institution.”

For the record, “Passed away” seems the most likely, not only because Samantha battled cancer on the show, but also because the odds are listed at near-even, at +130 — meaning you’d get $130 for every $100 you bet.

“Moved out of NYC” pays out at +250, or $250 for every $100 bet. “Not mentioned” is listed at +450, same as “still living in New York City.”

The chance to really win big is to bet on “confined to prison or institution,” which pays out at 7.5/1 — that’ll get you $750 for every hundred you wager.

Betty White reveals how she plans to celebrate her 99th birthday

No Comments Entertainment News

ROBYN BECK/AFP via Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Betty White turns 99 on Sunday, January 17, and she already knows exactly how she’s going to celebrate it.

The Golden Girls alum admits the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic put a wrench in her plans, but claims she found something way better to do.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday, the three-time Emmy Award-winning actress jokingly brought up her birthday plans first.

“You probably didn’t ask, but I’ll tell you anyway,” said White. “What am I doing for my birthday? Running a mile each morning has been curtailed by COVID, so I am working on getting The Pet Set re-released.”

The Pet Set was a 31-episode syndicated series that White hosted in 1971, which was produced by her late husband Allen Ludden.  White would invite celebrity guests like Doris Day, Vincent Price and Della Reese — and their pets — onto her show to chat about all things animals, including wildlife preservation.

White’s love of animals continues to this day. The actress further revealed who she intends to spend her 99th birthday with, saying she will also be “feeding the two ducks who come to visit me every day.”

The Pet Set, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, will be re-released on DVD and on streaming platforms on February 23, reports ET.

White adds in a press release, “The Pet Set is one of my favorite shows” and that she is “thrilled it’s going to be seen again after all these years.”

Rep for hospitalized 'Saved by the Bell' star Dustin Diamond says they'll know test results "in about a week"

Noel Vasquez/Getty Images(FLORIDA) — “It’s tough right now, that’s all I can say. It’s really tough on him.” That’s the word to ABC News from a rep for former Saved by the Bell star Dustin Diamond after he was hospitalized in Florida over the weekend.

The rep confirms the 44-year-old was taken for tests in an undisclosed Florida hospital, but they won’t know what’s bothering him for “about a week.”

“He’s just not doing well right now,” the rep says. “He seriously has something the matter and hopefully it will be able to heal if it’s not too late.”

The rep goes on, “He’s getting testing, and when we really know exactly what it is, we’ll let people know.  But right now, there’s a lot of things that could be wrong, adding, “We’re hoping for a speedy recovery.”

The spokesperson explains, “He’s just trying to keep his spirits up. It’s not an easy thing — it’s a tough journey he’s going to go on right now, so we just want everybody to give him thoughts and prayers.”

Diamond, 44, is most famous for playing Samuel “Screech” Powers in four seasons of the flagship Saved by the Bell series as well as spin-offs such as Saved by the Bell: Hawaiian StyleSaved by the Bell: The College Years and Saved by the Bell: The New Class.

As previously reported, Diamond didn’t join former cast mates Elizabeth Berkley, Mario Lopez, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tiffani Thiessen and Lark Voorhies for the Saved by the Bell revival on Peacock.

In a recent episode of the reboot, Lopez’s A.C. Slater explained Screech’s absence by saying he was currently in orbit working on the International Space Station with his robot sidekick, Kevin.

Maren Morris joins JP Saxe for dreamy collaboration, "Line by Line"

No Comments Country Music News

Arista RecordsMaren Morris and JP Saxe‘s love is infinite in their new song, “Line by Line.”

The collaboration between the country star and Canadian pop singer serves as a smooth, modern love song wherein the two trade smoky harmonies. Maren flexes her pop vocals more than ever before as she and JP try to find the right words to describe the people they love.

The singers admit that the bond they share with their partners is so grand it can’t be compressed into a love song that’s four chords and three minutes. “So I just take you line by line/I’ll be writing about you for the rest of my life,” they sing.

The video finds the pair meeting in various natural landscapes, ranging from a botanical-filled room to sitting in a jeep watching a meteor shower, with Maren catching a star in her hand that opens up to the galaxy.

“With JP & I both in relationships with other songwriters, you can imagine how no emotional stone is ever left unturned with our partners. That is gloriously frustrating & inspiring,” Maren explains of the song’s inspiration in an Instagram post, with a nod to her husband and fellow songwriter, Ryan Hurd. “To our muses: We’ll be writing about you for the rest of our lives.”

“Line by Line” arrives as Maren is working on a new album. It follows her multi-week, cross-genre number one, “The Bones.” She also had a massive pop hit on her hands with Zedd and Grey with the 2018 smash, “The Middle.”
