Bets on, bets off: Online gambling site already taking wagers on 'Cobra Kai' season 4

No Comments Entertainment News

CURTIS BONDS BAKER/NETFLIX © 2020(LOS ANGELES) — After fans binged the recently-dropped third season of the Karate Kid spin-off Cobra Kai, its cliffhanger ending left them aching for more — so much so that the online sportsbook My Bookie is taking wagers on what will happen in the show’s forthcoming fourth season.

In the cliffhanger, former enemies Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, played respectively by Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, team up to take on Martin Kove’s Sensei John Kreese, and whupped him handily enough that he called an old Army buddy for back-up. It’s not stated in the show, but Karate Kid fans are already predicting the return of actor and martial artist Thomas Ian Griffith’s Terry Silver, one of the baddies in Karate Kid Part III

It’s so likely Silver will return that My Bookie makes it a -500 bet — meaning if you bet $500 that he shows up, you’ll make just $100. On the other hand, betting $100 against Terry’s return would net you $200, because it’s considered unlikely he won’t join the fight.

Want to score on a long shot? Fans can also bet whether or not Oscar-winner Hillary Swank, who starred in 1994’s The Next Karate Kid, will return to the Karate Kid universe. A hundred-dollar bet would net you $550, according to My Bookie’s odds.

Another long-shot return is Jaden Smith, the star of the panned 2010 reboot of The Karate Kid. That’s considered so unlikely that a $100 bet would win you $900. Betting $100 that his character Dre Parker wins the All Valley Karate Championship will score you $2,000.

You can even bet on how many times people say the series’ iconic line, “Sweep the leg.”

Here are some other wagering possibilities for the fourth season of Cobra Kai and their corresponding money line bets, according to MyBookie:

Who wins the All Valley Karate Championship?

Miguel Diaz: +110

No Comments Country Music News

Yee Yee Apparel/NPG PRGranger Smith’s clothing line, Yee Yee Apparel, launched its winter collection on Friday. With a varied selection of sweatshirts, tees, hats and more, the new merchandise comes with another added perk: its focus on charitable efforts.

A portion of the proceeds from each item sold from the winter collection will benefit Release Recovery Foundation, a program for sober and transitional living founded by The Bachelorette alum Zac Clark. Zac has a personal connection to Yee Yee Apparel: Granger’s brother and brand co-founder, Tyler, got to know Zac on the set of the show, where they were both contestants during the same season.

“The minute I met Zac, we connected. I could see his heart,” says Tyler. “He’s a great human. After learning a little about Zac’s story, where he came from, how he overcame certain struggles and now being in the position he is to help so many others, I knew I wanted to do anything we could as a company to help further his mission.”

Over the years, Yee Yee Apparel has provided over $250,000 to charities the brothers feel passionate about.

"Oh, it's fantastic!" Diane Lane loves the fans prompting the release of the 'Justice League' "Snyder Cut"

Warner Bros. – 2017(NEW YORK) — Oscar-nominated actress Diane Lane is excited about the forthcoming “Snyder Cut” of Justice League.

“Oh, I think it’s fantastic!” Lane gushed to ABC Audio about the birth of the new version. “A one-way street became a two-way street in terms of the fans responding to the material, and then it takes on its own life.”

Lane played Martha Kent, Clark Kent/Superman’s adoptive mom, in Man of Steel and Justice League. ABC Audio asked her what she thought of the developments of the project, which began with the viral fan-borne hashtag #releasethesnydercut, and will culminate in March with HBO Max’s release of the the film as a four-part series, re-cut by its original director, Zack Snyder.

“I mean, it’s so larger than the little old me,” Lane says humbly, adding, “I love Martha in terms of what she presents as a pillar of humanity in a world where so many things are larger than life.”

Snyder was forced to step away from the project following a family tragedy in March 2017. Avengers director Joss Whedon took over and substantially retooled the film, which delivered a disappointing $657.9 million worldwide, and ignited disappointed fans’ curiosity as to what Snyder’s version would have looked like.

“I can’t wait for it to to come out and see how it how it does,” Lane says, adding with a laugh, “I’m sure there’s a lot of feedback that we’re going to get on it. Everybody’s got a review, right? Isn’t that how the world works?”

Lane can currently be seen next in the acclaimed dramatic thriller Let Him Go, available to own on digital Tuesday, January 19. The movie incidentally re-teams with her Man of Steel husband, Kevin Costner.

National Rifle Association files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy

(NEW YORK) — The National Rifle Association announced that it intends to restructure as a nonprofit based in Texas and has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protections.

“The move will enable long-term, sustainable growth and ensure the NRA’s continued success as the nation’s leading advocate for constitutional freedom — free from the toxic political environment of New York,” the gun advocacy group said in a statement Friday.

The NRA added that it has been incorporated in New York for approximately 150 years.

“This strategic plan represents a pathway to opportunity, growth and progress,” NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre said in a statement. “Obviously, an important part of this plan is ‘dumping New York.’ The NRA is pursuing reincorporating in a state that values the contributions of the NRA, celebrates our law-abiding members, and will join us as a partner in upholding constitutional freedom.”

LaPierre dubbed the decision Friday a “transformational moment in the history of the NRA.”

The move comes after the NRA was sued by New York Attorney General Letitia James last August in a bid to dissolve the group.

James accused the NRA of an array of “illegal conduct,” according to a press release at the time describing the suit, including “[the] diversion of millions of dollars away from the charitable mission of the organization for personal use by senior leadership, awarding contracts to the financial gain of close associates and family, and appearing to dole out lucrative no-show contracts to former employees in order to buy their silence and continued loyalty.”

The NRA has filed a counter claim, calling the initial suit politically motivated.

James on Friday responded to the bankruptcy news in a statement, saying, “The NRA’s claimed financial status has finally met its moral status: bankrupt.”

“While we review this filing, we will not allow the NRA to use this or any other tactic to evade accountability and my office’s oversight,” James added.
