Zendaya addresses 12 year age gap with 'Malcolm & Marie' co-star John David Washington

No Comments Entertainment News

Netflix(LOS ANGELES) — Zendaya and John David Washington are the stars of the the upcoming film Malcom & Marie — a black-and-white romantic drama that showcases a couple as their relationship is tested. The film, out February 5, is already getting Oscar buzz, however, some critics are fixated on the 12-year age gap between the actors.

Zendaya addressed this during an appearance on E!’s Daily Pop on Wednesday and attributed it to one simple thing,”I’ve played a 16-year-old since I was 16,” the 24-year-old said.

“You have to remember, also, people grew up [watching] me as a child,” the Euphoria Emmy-winning actress added. “It’s like watching, I guess, your younger sibling now, you know, they’re grown…So it’s hard for people to wrap around the idea that I am grown in real life. You know, even though I do play a teenager on television still.”

Washington, 36, didn’t elaborate on the matter, but he did share that he was thankful they were able to film Malcom & Marie amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“I didn’t know what the industry was going to look like,” he said. “I didn’t know if I was going to have an opportunity to do what I love to do the most, which is act.”

Malcolm & Marie premieres on Netflix February 5.

Chris Young might have a double album coming: “I’ve got a lot of work ahead of me in 2021"

Andy Heidt/MTSUChris Young dropped an exciting, music-related piece of news this week, while talking to Nashville’s The Tennessean newspaper about the newly-opened Chris Young Café he helped fund on the campus of his alma mater, Middle Tennessee State University.

The singer, who has been regularly sharing clips of himself at work in the studio over the past several weeks, hinted that there is indeed a new project in the works — and it’s more than just one album.

“I’ve got pretty much a double album in the can right now that I’d like people to hear,” Chris revealed. “I’ve got a lot of work ahead of me in 2021.”

Chris has already shared a handful of songs off his upcoming musical chapter, including “Raised on Country,” “Drowning” and, most recently, his “Famous Friends” duet with Kane Brown. That song is currently inside country radio’s Top 40 and climbing.

But “Famous Friends” isn’t the only collaboration Chris is planning to include on his next project. “I’ve got a lot of music I’m working on that I’m ready for it to be out there…I’ve got a lot of other collaborations,” he adds.

If Chris does drop a double album, it would be the third supersized country project to be announced this year. Morgan Wallen dropped his 30-track Dangerous: The Double Album in early January, and later that month, Eric Church announced his triple album, Heart & Soul.

Eric Church previews 'Heart & Soul'’s dramatic cover art, and offers some fan club-exclusive goodies

No Comments Country Music News

EMI Records NashvilleEric Church is known for making sure his fans come first, and in the roll-out of his upcoming Heart & Soul triple album, that’s no different.

The middle third of his upcoming musical trilogy — the six-song & album — will be available exclusively to members of his Church Choir, the singer explained last week when he unveiled plans for the project.

But that’s not all: His upcoming lyric video for “Heart on Fire,” one of the tracks off of Heart, is available to Church Choir members now. That’s a full 24 hours before he releases it to the rest of the world on Friday.

Eric has also shared the striking triptych of cover art for his three albums. The art for the first and last projects, Heart and Soul, feature mirror images of the singer’s face in profile, surrounded by abstract clouds lined with red and blue, respectively. The middle project, &, doesn’t bear the singer’s image at all. Instead, it simply displays its title, set against a purple cloud of smoke.

All three discs will be exclusively available to Church Choir members on white vinyl, and the Heart and Soul will also be released on CD and digitally. More purchasing options — including a black vinyl pre-order — will be available beginning Friday.

Eric is rolling out his three new albums one at a time, on April 16, April 20 and April 23.
