Ashley Tisdale opens up about "traumatic" criticism she received over her nose job

No Comments Entertainment News

Disney(LOS ANGELES) — Ashley Tisdale opened up about the “traumatic” shaming she endured from critics after getting a nose job in 2007.

In a candid post on her Frenshe website, the 35-year-old actress admits she still doesn’t feel ready to talk about an incident that happened 15 years ago, but felt her fans deserved some honesty.

“I wasn’t ready to write or publish this post just yet, however, a question asked in an interview this week triggered some emotions,” Tisdale started. “The bottom line: it was a very traumatic experience for me and it makes me very emotional to this day.”

“As most of you might know, I had rhinoplasty 15 years ago. At the time, it didn’t feel like THAT big of a deal to me,” the soon-to-be mom explained, adding she elected for the surgery “based on serious health issues I was having.”

Tisdale furthered that doctors later offered to shave her “bump” down, admitting, “I was young and didn’t put much thought into it, so I decided, why not?”

“In the aftermath and the hardest part, was not the recovery but the media who constantly tried to paint a picture of me as someone who didn’t like their appearance,” The High School Musical alum disclosed. “I loved myself, but I was just a very unaware person at that time (as you all have seen my wardrobe choices LOL!)”

Tisdale lamented that “Plastic surgery wasn’t culturally accepted then like it is now” and “When I got [my nose] done I was scrutinized, judged, and made to feel ashamed over my decision.”

“At the end of the day, I’m having a daughter, and I hope her choices aren’t met with judgment or shame,” She closed, adding she feels zero judgement over what other people choose to do with their body.

Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus strikes out on his own with “Music Man,” a powerful tribute to his late father

No Comments Country Music News

Big Machine Label GroupRascal Flatts band mate Jay DeMarcus shares an emotional and deeply personal tribute in his new solo song, “Music Man,” which was written in honor of his late father.

In October of 2020, Jay shared that his dad, Stanley Wayne DeMarcus, had died. He explained at the time that his father was a “musical hero” to him, recalling that it was the elder DeMarcus who taught him early lessons about playing instruments and being onstage.

After his father’s death, Jay says, he felt moved to channel his love and grief into this tribute song.

“Naturally, losing my father was a huge, life-altering moment, but being able to sit down at the very piano he taught me on has been so comforting to me,” the singer explains. “The night he passed, I sat down at that piano, and the lyrics to this song just poured over and spilled out of me.”

Jay adds that he’s grateful for the close bond he shared with his father throughout their time together.

“Music was such a strong bond between us. It kept us close, while the miles and the years kept us apart,” he reflects. “It’s clear to me now that life is never going to be the same after losing a parent, but I’m so grateful for the memories and the legacy he’s passed on to me, and he will forever be my ‘Music Man’.”

“Music Man” was written, produced and sung by Jay alone. He also played every instrument on the track.

Ciera Payton says 'Wendy Williams The Movie' shows you the Wendy "that no one else knows"

No Comments Entertainment News

Photo credit: Ryan Plummer(NEW YORK) — Ciera Payton says fans will get to see the “grounded and authentic side” of Wendy Williams in the new Lifetime biopic Wendy Williams The Movie.

“People know Wendy so well and they watch the show think[ing] that’s what she’s like – 24/7,” Payton, who plays Williams, tells ABC Audio. “But no one knows who she is behind the camera. And when she takes the hair out and the makeup off and stuff. And so, we wanted to really show you this human that no one else knows.”

Payton says portraying the real Wendy Williams wasn’t that hard to do since Williams was there to offer her insight.

“Her big thing was — ‘It was about confidence,'” Payton explains. “We spent a little while just talking about that because I was curious for myself. Like, ‘How do you maintain your confidence and dealing with some of the controversy over the years and still put yourself out there.’ And she was like, ‘Listen, point blank, it’s all about just getting back up, putting your shoulders back, keep your head up high and just say, ‘Screw it.'”

While Payton says Williams wanted the film to focus on her confidence and most authentic self, the actress admits she was a bit “surprised” when Williams’ infamous catchphrase, ‘How You Doing?’ wasn’t included.

“I’m like, ‘Is it not in the script, like, what’s going on?,” Payton recalls saying, before adding that she even tried to sneak in the line.

“And I’m just going to say it: there is one part in the movie [where] I said it.” she laughs. “And it didn’t stay. And I was like, ‘Nooo!'”

Wendy Williams The Movie, also starring Morocco Omari and Kevin Hunter, premieres Saturday, January 30 at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime.

ABCMorgan Wallen’s spree of delivering new music continues. Less than a month after dropping Dangerous: The Double Album, he’s adding three new bonus tracks to his mammoth, 30-song sophomore effort.

Two of the tracks are “This Side of a Dust Cloud” and “Bandaid on a Bullet Hole,” two songs that were previously exclusive to Target. The third is a special, reimagined version of the album’s opener, called “Sand in My Boots (The Dangerous Sessions).

Morgan gave fans a heads-up Thursday that the new tracks were coming out when he shared snippets of their lyric videos on Instagram. “Ran outta patience,” the singer wrote alongside his post.

Meanwhile, Dangerous continued to light up both the Billboard 200 Album Chart and Rolling Stone’s Top 200 Albums Chart for a second consecutive week. That makes Morgan’s album the first country act to spend two weeks in a row atop the Billboard chart since 2015, and the first to ever accomplish that feat on the Rolling Stone chart.

Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury and Fox Television Studios have committed to a fall launch of a daytime talk show helmed by The Masked Singer host, according to a press release.

The news comes just over six months after producers delayed the premiere after Cannon came under fire for making comments that were deemed anti-Semitic last summer.

At the time, Lionsgate and Debmar-Mercury said in a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, “The Nick Cannon talk show will not debut this year.  After conversations with Nick, we do believe that his public comments don’t reflect his true feelings and his apology is heartfelt and sincere.”

“We want to continue the healing process as he meets with leaders of the Jewish community and engages in a dialogue with our distribution partners to hear their views,” the statement continued. “We are standing by Nick in our hope that by fall 2021 he will be able to use his extraordinary talent and platform to entertain, enlighten and unite his audience on the Nick Cannon talk show.”
