Jason Aldean celebrates “this lil nugget” as his youngest daughter Navy turns 2 years old

No Comments Country Music News

ABCThe youngest member of Jason Aldean’s family, his daughter Navy, turned two on Thursday, and the country star posted a montage of photos to social media to celebrate the occasion.

“Hard to believe this lil nugget is 2 years old today,” Jason wrote. “ “I wish all kids could be this sweet and loving. She is a special little girl! Happy bday Navy baby. We love u so much.”

A series of snaps show a glimpse into little Navy’s personality, including one hilarious picture of the young girl with her hair standing up from static electricity. Jason wasn’t the only one to post a birthday tribute to his daughter: Brittany Aldean, the singer’s wife, shared video footage of the family waking up Navy by singing “Happy Birthday.”

In the clip, both Jason and Brittany sing to Navy as she’s waking up in her crib, and at the end of the song, Jason removes the pacifier from her mouth. “No,” Navy sleepily comments.

“Yeah! Today’s your birthday!” Jason responds. “You’re two! That’s so cool!”

In addition to Navy, Jason and his wife share a son, Memphis, who turned three years old in December. Jason also has two teenage daughters, Keeley and Kendyl, from a previous marriage.

'The Little Things' Golden Globe and SAG Award nominee Jared Leto is "sworn to secrecy" about new 'Justice League' cut

No Comments Entertainment News

Warner Bros. Entertainment/HBO Max(LOS ANGELES) — Oscar winner Jared Leto’s awards buzz is growing with a brand-new Screen Actors Guild nod.

Leto was nominated in the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role category, thanks to his role in the film The Little Things, in which he stars opposite two other Academy Award winners, Denzel Washington and Rami Malek.

Leto’s performance was also recognized earlier this week with a nomination for the Best Supporting Actor Golden Globe.

The Little Things, premiered last Friday both in theaters and on HBO Max, and topped the box office over the weekend.

In addition to all the award nominations, Leto’s been making headlines this week after director Zack Snyder teased the actor/musician’s return as the Joker in the upcoming so-called “Snyder Cut” of the 2017 film Justice League. In an interview with Variety, Leto says he’s “sworn to secrecy” about the project.

“He’s an incredible filmmaker and I love his work,” Leto says of Snyder. “It was cool to have the opportunity to collaborate with him. He’s got a crazy, infectious energy. I love his passion and commitment to what he does.”

Leto previously played the Joker in 2016’s Suicide Squad; his mostly-deleted appearance in that film, and absence from the theatrical cut of Justice League disappointed many fans.

Incidentally, Diane Lane was similarly tight-lipped about the Snyder Cut, though the actress, who plays Superman/Clark Kent’s adoptive mom Martha, admitted to ABC Audio that she thought the fans enthusiasm that spawned the re-cut was “Fantastic.”

Zack Snyder’s Justice League premieres March 18 on HBO Max.

Warner Bros. suspends shooting of 'Fantastic Beasts' threequel after positive COVID test

Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander; Courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures(LONDON) — Production on the third film in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series has been “paused,” producers say, after a member of the Warner Bros. production tested positive for COVID-19.

The film, currently shooting at Leavesden Studios in the U.K., stopped production “out of an abundance of caution,” and “will be back up in accordance with safety guidelines,” noted the studio in a statement.

Warner Bros. didn’t specify if the “team member” in question was part of the cast or the crew, but explained, “The diagnosis was confirmed as a result of required and ongoing testing that all production employees receive,” and that the person in question is currently in isolation.

The third film in the series based on J.K. Rowling’s books hit a snag in November, when Johnny Depp was asked to step down from the film following his messy court drama with ex-wife Amber Heard.  His role of Gellert Grindelwald was eventually recast with Doctor Strange‘s Mads Mikkelson.

Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne reprises his role as magical animal hunter Newt Scamander in the third movie, which is set for a summer, 2022 release.

Brothers Osborne’s T.J. Osborne feels “so incredibly loved” after coming out as gay

No Comments Country Music News

ABC/Image Group LAOn Wednesday, Brothers Osborne bandmate T.J. Osborne was the subject of an in-depth TIME profile, in which he came out as gay.

That made him the first artist signed to a major country label to publicly discuss being gay — a historic step for the genre as a whole, as well as a major step for T.J., the singer later stated in an Instagram video message to his fans.

“I know it’s gonna help my relationship with my fans, with my family, and honestly, it’s gonna help my relationship with myself,” he said in the clip.

Thursday morning, T.J. appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to further reflect on his experience.

“I’m trying not to cry on national television right now,” the singer joked, explaining what an empowering and emotional process it had been. “…I instantaneously felt like I wished I had done this a long time ago.”

He added, “I expected a wave of love from family and friends. I did not expect it to feel the way it felt. I think it’s one thing when you just know and assume that people love you, and it’s different when you hear it and hear it with sincerity. Right now, I feel so incredibly loved.”

T.J. goes on to say that while he expected to feel support from his friends and closest musical pals, he wound up being surprised by positive reactions from people he wouldn’t necessarily have expected to hear from.

“People that I feel personify masculinity and the straight culture to the nth degree, coming out with a lot of pride for me,” he explains.

Still, T.J. says in the interview, he knows that there may be challenges ahead, especially once touring resumes and Brothers Osborne play shows in more rural, conservative areas.

Olympic torch unveiled one year before Beijing Winter Olympics as concerns linger over summer Tokyo Games

(BEIJING) — The torch for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing has been unveiled — one year before the opening ceremony and as Tokyo continues to prepare to host summer games postponed because of the pandemic.

Organizers for the Beijing games designed a “blazing ribbon,” with spirals pointing upward to display the Olympic flame at the opening ceremony.

The spirals of the torch, named “Flying,” resemble two overlapping ribbons — an inner red ribbon, which evokes rising flames, and a silver-plated ribbon, a metaphor of ice and fire, according to the Beijing Olympic Committee.

“As the torch turns, the whirling red line hidden in the gap seems to stretch endlessly, representing mankind’s relentless pursuit of light, peace, excellence and the values promoted by the Olympic Movement,” according to a statement from the Olympic Committee.

The design is similar to the one featured in the 2008 Summer Olympics, also in Beijing. The torch for the Paralympic Winter Games features the same structure but with a gold and silver color scheme.

The Beijing Olympic Committee is planning to hold the 2022 winter games as scheduled, despite the COVID-19 pandemic that delayed the 2020 summer games in Tokyo.

On Wednesday, Tokyo Olympics organizers unveiled the first of a series of “playbooks,” step-by-step guides for key stakeholders that explain what to do before leaving home and entering Japan, as well as during the Games and when departing. They also outline protocols, including physical distancing and good hygiene measures, regular testing and temperature checks.
