No Comments Entertainment News

“Without Remorse” – Amazon Prime(LOS ANGELES) — On Monday, Amazon announced a major partnership deal with Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan and his production banner, Outlier Society.

Jordan will be wearing his actor and producer hat for the action thriller Without Remorse, which is based on Tom Clancy’s 1993 novel. Jordan plays a former Navy SEAL named John Clark who uncovers an international conspiracy while seeking justice for the murder of his pregnant wife.

Without Remorse also stars Jodie Turner-Smith, Lauren London, Colman Domingo, Jack Kesy and Jordan’s Fantastic Four co-star Jamie Bell. The film kicks off the expansion of Jordan’s Outlier, which includes an exclusive overall relationship in television and a first-look film deal. The creative partnership intends to “produce and acquire elevated films showcasing diverse, bold filmmakers and talent for the studio’s ever-growing original movies slate,” according to a statement.

Jordan and Outlier Society, which launched in 2016, will see cross-collaborations within Amazon’s vast businesses, from fashion, Audible, music and more, including Jordan’s appearance in Amazon’s Alexa big game ad. The company’s goal is to bring diverse stories to the forefront of Hollywood, starting with upcoming films such Creed III and the Denzel Washington-directed feature Journal for Jordan, with Jordan as star and producer.

Without Remorse arrives globally April 30 on Amazon Prime Video.

Incidentally, Jack Ryan, based on the late thriller author Clancy’s first recurring character, and starring John Krasinksi in the title role, also airs on Amazon Prime.

Luke Bryan's Valentine's Day plans likely won't include duck hunting

No Comments Country Music News

ABC/Brian Bowen SmithAs Luke Bryan gears up to celebrate Valentine’s Day with his wife Caroline, he’s toying with the idea of making it the perfect blend of country and romance.

The superstar singer appeared on Live with Kelly and Ryan alongside his fellow American Idol judges, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, sharing that he’s in the process of planning the couple’s Valentine’s Day celebration that initially began with the idea of taking his wife of 14 years duck hunting.

“But that’s probably not a good idea. I attempted that once, and it didn’t go like I planned,” Luke says in reference to the couple’s recent duck hunting date that involved them getting stuck in four feet of water.

However, the “Play it Again” hitmaker does plan to give his wife roses, and is trying to plan a romantic getaway with just the two of them.

The new season of American Idol premieres on Valentine’s Day on ABC at 8 p.m ET.

No Comments Country Music News

Chris Hollo for the Grand Ole OpryMaking his Grand Ole Opry debut wasn’t the only special moment Parker McCollum experienced this weekend.

In addition to performing his #1 debut single “Pretty Heart” and delivering a cover of Jerry Lee Lewis‘ “Middle Aged Crazy,” Parker was also surprised with a plaque commemorating platinum certification of “Pretty Heart” by the RIAA.

“Playing the Grand Ole Opry for the first time and dreaming about playing country music for a long time, it is an unbelievable feeling to stand right here and sing my song for you guys,” Parker professed, standing in the sacred Opry circle after performing “Pretty Heart.”

Parker was invited to make his Opry debut by Dierks Bentley, who was also part of the Saturday night lineup.

“Pretty Heart” is featured on Parker’s EP Hollywood Gold, which reached the top 10 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart in October.

Daisy Ridley says she doesn't plan on returning to social media

No Comments Entertainment News

Samir Hussein/WireImage(LONDON) — Daisy Ridley, who famously exited social media in 2016, says she has no plans to reactivate any of her accounts.

Speaking recently to Spanish magazine S Modathe Star Wars actress expressed doubt that she would return to social media.

“I have managed to separate my personal life well from my professional life, partly probably because I’m not on social media,” said the 28-year-old actress, translated from Spanish. “I don’t want to go back, but sometimes I think about it.  But the truth is that no, I won’t be returning.”

The actress is set to star in Chaos Walking her first post-Star Wars movie, which is due out in March.

Ridley isn’t the only Star Wars alum to exit social media due to a negative experience.  He co-star, Kelly Marie Tran who will star in the upcoming Disney movie Raya and the Last Dragon, briefly shut down her social media accounts after being targeted by racist attacks.

Both actresses have spoken out about how social media has nearly ruined their experiences on the films, with Ridley telling the DragCast posdcast last April, “You know, everyone’s entitled to not like something but it feels like it’s changed slightly. I think in general that’s because social media and what have you.”

Tran also opened up about the racist abuse she endured online, telling Variety in 2018, “Their words reinforced a narrative I had heard my whole life: that I was “other,” that I didn’t belong, that I wasn’t good enough, simply because I wasn’t like them. And that feeling, I realize now, was, and is, shame, a shame for the things that made me different, a shame for the culture from which I came from. And to me, the most disappointing thing was that I felt it at all.”

Lucasfilm is owned by Disney, the parent company of ABC News.
