Halle Berry laughs off critics claiming she "can't keep a man"

No Comments Entertainment News

Paul R. Giunta/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — (NOTE LANGUAGE) Halle Berry won’t stand for misogynistic or insulting comments on her social media and shut down several critics who claimed no one wants to date her.

The Academy Award winner, who is currently in a relationship with singer Van Hunt, sparked intense debate over the weekend when she shared an image that stated, “Women don’t owe you s**t.”

Berry, 54, added in the caption, “& that’s on mary had a little lamb.”

A handful of the actress’ 6.7 million followers took issue with the statement, with one suggesting that the only women who believe the mantra are those “who can’t keep a man.”

The comment landed itself on Berry’s radar and she quickly put the naysayer in place by simply correcting, “Who says I wanna keep the wrong man?”

Another critic who took issue with Berry’s post further insulted the actress by suggesting, “You may have to start looking in the mirror, because it’s definitely you. What is it that you’re doing wrong? With all of your accomplishments, fame, beauty, it seems as if you can’t keep a man. I get the feeling that you’re too controlling, demanding and probably full of [yourself.]”

Berry wasted no time reacting to the slight by quipping in return, “Who said I wanted to keep them?”

The Extant alum furthered, “I’m all about living your best life. If you make a wrong move, course correct and re-spin and start again!”

Prior to dating Hunt, Berry was previously married to David Justice, Eric Benét and Olivier Martinez.

With Martinez, she shares a son named Maceo, who is seven.

Berry is also the mother of 12-year-old Nahla, of which she shares with ex Gabriel Aubry.

'Jeopardy!' Productions and Alex Trebek's family donate much of his wardrobe to charity

No Comments Entertainment News

Courtesy Jeopardy! Productions(NEW YORK) — Hundreds of pieces of clothing that made up the late Alex Trebek’s wardrobe are being donated for a good cause.

The wardrobe articles from the late Jeopardy! host were donated to The Doe Fund, a charity that provides, “work, housing, vocational training, continuing education, and comprehensive social services to underserved Americans with histories of addiction, homelessness, and incarceration.”

Trebek lost his battle against pancreatic cancer last November. He was 80.

Much of the collection donated by his family and the quiz show — 14 suits, 58 dress shirts, 300 neckties, 25 polo shirts, 14 sweaters, 9 sports coats, 9 pairs of dress shoes, 15 belts, 2 parkas, and 3 pairs of dress slacks, specifically — will be given to the organization’s Ready, Willing and Able program, which provides clothing for those who need to look their best for job interviews.

“During his last day on set, Alex extolled the virtues of everyone opening up their hands and their hearts to those who are suffering,” said Mike Richards, Executive Producer, of Jeopardy! in a press release from Jeopardy! Productions

“Donating his wardrobe to those who are working to rebuild their lives is the perfect way to begin to honor that last request.”

In that statement, Harriet McDonald, President of The Doe Fund, said, “We are so grateful for Jeopardy! and the Trebek family’s commitment to lifting up the most vulnerable among us. The men in our career training programs are always in need of professional attire, so they can shine in their job interviews and work with confidence once they’re hired…”

Grieving the recent loss of her husband and the founder of the charity, George McDonald, Mrs. McDonald noted, “This generous gift honors the legacies of both men, and I know they’re smiling down on us.”

Super Bowl scored 96.4 million viewers across broadcast and streaming; most live-streamed NFL game ever

No Comments Entertainment News

Patrick Smith/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — In a sign of the times regarding how entertainment is consumed, CBS announced that Sunday night’s Super Bowl match-up between the Bucs and the Chiefs scored 96.4 million viewers, and the biggest live-streamed audience ever for an NFL game.

After a fumble with the ratings numbers that caused them to be MIA on Monday, the network now says the game — in which Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers destroyed Patrick Mahomes and his Kansas City team 31-9, accounted for more than one billion streaming minutes.

That said, the broadcast audience — that’s counting TVs only — was the lowest since 2006.

The game’s 96.4 million viewers watched across a multitude of platforms, including the CBS Television Network for the traditional broadcast, as well as CBS Sports and NFL digital properties, Buccaneers and Chiefs mobile properties, Verizon Media mobile properties and ESPN Deportes television and digital platform.

Super Bowl LV also generated more than 127 billion potential impressions on social media on Sunday, according to the network, and drove a record number of sign-ups to CBS All Access, the network’s streaming service.

Blake Shelton thought his Super Bowl commercial with Gwen Stefani and Adam Levine was "so funny"

No Comments Country Music News

Emma McIntyre/Getty ImagesBlake Shelton is overwhelmed by the responses he got to his T-Mobile commercial

Blake joins forces with his fiancée Gwen Stefani and former The Voice coach Adam Levine in the spot that premiered during the Super Bowl.  The “Minimum Wage” singer revealed that after it aired, his phone was “smoking” from all the messages he received.

“You realize, ‘Oh my God, nobody has ever really watched me win an award.’ I know that now. But everybody watches the Super Bowl. Now it’s confirmed, I know every contact in my phone was watching that game,” Blake remarked to Entertainment Weekly.

Blake adds that he had a “blast” filming the commercial that finds him showing up to a blind date with Gwen wearing cowboy boots and spurs.

“When I read the script, I thought it was a great idea. I thought it was so funny. Because people still don’t really understand why she’s with me. And fair enough, right?” he says jokingly. “So I loved being able to spin that out.”
