Netflix royalty: Prince Harry, Meghan announce details of first streaming project

No Comments Entertainment News

Max Mumby/Indigo/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have shared details of their first streaming project.

The Sussexes’ first series on Netflix will focus on the Invictus Games, the Paralympic-style competition for wounded service members that Harry launched in 2014.

Titled Heart of Invictus, the multi-episode series will follow competitors from around the world as they prepare to compete at the Invictus Games in The Hague, Netherlands. The Games, originally scheduled to take place in 2020, were rescheduled for spring 2022 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“Since the very first Invictus Games back in 2014, we knew that each competitor would contribute in their
own exceptional way to a mosaic of resilience, determination, and resolve,” Harry said in a statement. “This series will give communities around the world a window into the moving and uplifting stories of these competitors on their path to the Netherlands next year.”

The series is the first on Netflix from Harry and Meghan’s Archewell Productions, which the couple founded after they stepped down last year from their roles as senior working members of Britain’s royal family.

Harry and Meghan inked a deal with Netflix last fall to produce films and series, including docuseries, documentaries, features and children’s programming, according to a source close to the couple.

Focusing their first project with Netflix on the Invictus Games is a full-circle moment for the Sussexes, who made their public debut as a couple at the 2017 Invictus Games in Toronto.

Movie theaters, theme parks and other venues could be fully operational by April 15, says California's governor

No Comments Entertainment News

Californa’s Disneyland – ABC(LOS ANGELES) — Movie theaters, theme parks, sports stadiums, and even conventions could soon return to full capacity in California, according to an announcement from embattled Governor Gavin Newsom.

Newsom announced Tuesday that as COVID-19 cases continue to drop and vaccinations continue to rise in the Golden State, the state’s economy could fully reopen as early as June 15, according to Los Angeles ABC News affiliate KTLA

The relaxation of rules in the once hard-hit state would occur as long as vaccination supplies stay steady, and hospitalization rates remain low, he clarified.

“It is time to turn the page on our tier system and begin looking to fully reopen California’s economy. We can now begin planning for our lives post-pandemic,” Newsom said in a statement released ahead of a late-morning news conference he held in the Bay Area.

Conventions and other large-scale indoor events will be permitted as testing and vaccination verification continue.

The governor said the state’s mask mandate will remain “in the short run,” meaning if Californians get back to the movies en masse, they’ll be masked.

Steven Ferdman/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) — Congratulations are in order for Henry Golding, who just welcomed his firstborn alongside wife Liv Lo.

Continued Golding, 34, “Your strength brought us our greatest joy. Thank you, I love you.”

Prior to the actor’s big reveal, Lo shared a slideshow of her anxiously awaiting her little one’s arrival — revealing that she and Golding welcomed their newborn last month.

“On March 31st our lives changed forever,” the fitness instructor revealed in the caption.  Lo also explained to fans that she will be on “maternity leave,” so her social media posts have been put on hiatus.

She promised that she won’t be away for long, adding, “I’ll prob be up during midnight breastfeeds checking in on you, but otherwise ‘I’ll be back’ xx.”

Of the photos she shared to Instagram, the first two are of her preparing to go into labor while the third, a black and white photo, is her about to deliver her little one.

The final photo depicts the sleeping infant grasping both Golding and Lo’s fingers.

The proud parents tied the knot on August 20, 2016.  While the two welcomed their first child, neither have revealed the name or gender of their newest and littlest family member.
